Easter

It was a lovely spring day for Easter this year. The Easter Bunny left a few eggs and some little containers of play-doh in hiding places in the living room. Maia found one of the play-doh containers as soon as she walked into the kitchen. Then she found an egg with some candy in it, about which she was "cited!" (excited!) and she shoved multiple pieces in her mouth at once. After looking for maybe two or three more eggs, she was a little more interested in actually eating the candy than hunting for the rest.
I happened to realize that Maia did not have any dressy white shoes to go with her fancy Easter dress, so Maia and I had to run to Meijer to see if we could find some (Target would have been my first choice, but they were closed for the holiday). Our choices were limited. There was one pair of size 5 dress shoes (she actually still wears a 4). We got some breakfast, and Maia took a brief nap while I made green bean casserole, and warmed up the Honeybaked Ham (yum!) that my mom got for Easter Dinner at Ellen's house.
When Maia woke up, we got her dressed in her over-priced, Gymboree finery:
And she actually rather enjoyed wearing her bunny ears (in short bursts). She also liked to put them in her ears like the play stethoscope at daycare.
Then we loaded up the car, and the high chair and headed over to Ellen's for another candy hunt and dinner. Emily was all ready to help Maia hunt for eggs and candy... but this chair was FULL of little foil wrapped chocolates, so Maia was quite content to sit right here.
Aunt Kathleen, Uncle Andrew and the kids (the "puddles") got Maia some new books... which she LOVED. This child simply cannot have too many books!
So Emily and Adrian happily read the books with her.
Lydia sang some of Maia's favorite songs to her. And after dinner, Andrew opened up a beautiful old music box (the BIG kind) and the kids danced to the music. Maia couldn't get enough of that either ("More -u-ick? More danceeen?")
