Feeling better... feeling worse...

As I'm starting to feel better... nausea is less constant, and fatigue levels are improving... I come down with a horrible cough and cold. A real rarity! I actually had to call in sick for only the 2nd time in 4 years at this job. After a few days of misery, sleepless nights and exhausted days full of violent coughing and constant nose blowing, Dr LaGrand puts me on an antibiotic (Zithromax). By the 24th, I'm starting to feel better... although the ongoing post-nasal drip leads to morning coughing fits which end in vomiting. Figures!

1st Ultrasound

Ray's birthday, and our 1st appointment at the OB's office, complete with ultrasound. We've already estimated the due date to be about August 12, 2008. The ultrasound tech moves it up to August 9, 2008. We get our first glimpse of the little gummy bear shaped baby, and we are easily able to see the heartbeat fluttering away. I think this makes things feel a lot more real to Ray. We call Effie from the ultrasound room so she can hear the fetal heartbeat on the Doppler. We get pictures of the general ultrasound, and the 3D version, in which baby looks a lot like a 3D comma.

New Years

Still nauseated and exhausted... but hanging in there. Work is interesting as I'm struggling to stay awake and I'm having to eat frequently to stave off nausea. We ring in the New Year playing cards at Kath & Andrew's. One of the foods I find most appealing right now is Pork Fried Rice.
