Sunglasses and Outside Time

Maia has had lots of pairs of sunglasses, and she's been resistant to wearing them all (well, once she had the motor skills to take them off herself). Until Nana Effie's Easter Basket arrived with a cute pair: yellow with flowers on the frames and pink lenses, which came in a clear plastic "purse." Maia LOVED them... but unfortunately, I never got a chance to get a picture of her with the glasses ON before she broke them in half at the bridge last week. Which didn't stop her from asking for her "sungyasses" every morning in the car. And she didn't want the old ones I had... she wanted the pretty pink and yellow ones. So I went to Children's Place, where they sell children's sunglasses 2 pairs for $5.00. So now that she's got the concept, she'll wear them... at least for a while. And she's starting to think that every time she goes outside she needs her coat and sunglasses.
Now that spring has finally sprung, she of course doesn't always need her coat... and she wants to go outside and play every evening, even though she does go outside at daycare at least once every day (unless it's raining).
She's very interested in looking for sticks and rocks... and finding dandelions to pick.
And running, running, running.
Ah, spring... the Lilies of the Valley have started blooming!
Recently she discovered pockets, and that she could put stuff in them (rocks, hands, fruit snacks). She LOVES pockets now! And she's saving this rock for later...
And we will undoubtedly launder that rock, which might mean we will be making our own stone-washed clothing. Shame it went out of style 20 years ago.
