Making Hot Chocolate

More kids in daycare means more teachers to give gifts to. Particularly with 2-3 teachers each class room, plus some part-time floaters. However, more kids in daycare also means much tighter budget. With Kath's three, she is in much the same boat. Last year, Kath and I decided to make some home made gifts (Chai Tea mix) together, and split the cost, making it much more affordable for us both. So this year, we decided to make Peppermint Hot Chocolate Mix in a Jar. We started out by having Maia and Lydia help us unwrap and crush peppermint candies and candy canes. Maia apparently thought this was an occassion for a tutu, which goes nicely with her Elmo slippers. Parker was extremely intrigued by all the stuff on the table beside him, and was reaching over the side of his chair to see what he could get his hands on. And once he got a hold of this whisk, he was delighted! While Maia unwrapped them (and ate a few)... Lydia crushed the mints. Later, Adrian also joined us, and we got a nice assembly line going And when we were done... 36 gifts at $2.78 each. Definitely better than 36 gifts at $10 a piece!
