Maia's camping trip... continued!

Look Mommy! Playing in the dirt! Fun! Maia's first boat ride! Kath, Emily, Adrian, Lydia, Papa Joe and I joined Maia for a little excursion on Duck Lake. Kath & I swam while the kids fed Maia yogurt melts, rice cakes and took good care of her while she fell asleep to the rocking of the waves.

Maia's First Fourth of July!

It's funny... one year ago, I was posting on this blog, realizing that it would be my last vacation without a child. And here I am, with this beautiful, beautiful girl who makes my heart all fluttery, I love her so much! Look at this face!!! Adrian and Lydia participated in the kids parade. Prizes go to the best decorated bikes in each of several age groups. Lydia won first in her age bracket, and Adrian won second in his. Lydia's bike can be seen in this picture. She also just recently started riding without training wheels, so this was extra exciting! Lydia won her cool "Glow in The Dark" Interlochen t-shirt, and Adrian won the Interlochen baseball cap, sported by both him and Maia. This was actually the first year that Emily did not participate, having one first place once, and second place after that, it lost some of its luster. Not to mention, she may just be too cool for any kid bike parade! And, well, this is just a funny pic of Adrian.

Maia's first camping trip!

We got into Interlochen State Park around suppertime on Thursday July 2nd. Ray and I got to setting up the tent, while Maia had some chicken nuggets (Perhaps I'm a bad mom, feeding her this junk already, but choices can sometimes be limited!) with Aunt Kathleen. Here is Maia's own, special bed! She LOVED the tent... wanted to explore every bit of it. She found it fascinating. Her bed... well, that took some getting used to. I think she finally started to get used to it by our third (and final) night.
